Definition

RSI

RSI, or "Repetitive Strain Injury", is an all encapsulating term to describe any work related injury that is caused by repeated actions or long-term exposure to a poor posture.

RSI conditions commonly include tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome or back ache.

Although the term "RSI" is a commonly used term, the phrase "Work Related Upper Limb Disorder" or WRULD is a more accurate phrase to describe common injuries caused by combining computer use with poor workplace design. RSI's need not be related to the workplace: "tennis elbow" and "PlayStation thumb" are such examples.
